About Coach Jake
Jake’s passion for running began after joining his middle school cross country team. A love of competition and curiosity for the process led Jake to compete at the collegiate level as a member of Fordham University’s Division I Cross Country and Track & Field teams.
A continual student of the sport, Jake began his journey into coaching when he completed the USATF Level I Coaching Certification and a Masters degree in Exercise Science with a concentration in Human Performance from Southern Connecticut State University.
As a private coach, Jake has coached athletes in distances ranging from the mile to the marathon including qualifiers for the Boston Marathon and the US Olympic Team Trials. In addition to coaching at Evergreen Lane Athletics, Jake currently serves as Head Coach of Fairfield University's Division I Men's and Women's Cross Country teams. With experience coaching runners in a variety of disciplines and a holistic approach to coaching that emphasizes both the physical and mental aspects of performance, Jake’s goal is to help guide his athletes along their own running journeys. Whether you are a beginner looking to finish your first 5k or an experienced runner interested in competing at the highest level, Jake is dedicated to helping you take the next step!
